Street and Strip

Street and Strip is a small but friendly club of fans of Drag Racing and Hot Rodding; Yanks, Brits, rods, dragsters, muscle cars and modern high performance cars driven at the tracks of the UK.

Formed in 2007, Street and Strip allows like minded people to meet, share ideas, discuss racing and related 'culture' issues.

Originally conceived to support the National Street Car Challenge, the club soon started taking on racers from many other classes. We still support the NSCC but to reflect the club memberships desire tio race elsewhere too, (such as the Muscle Car Power Tour, Sportsman ET and Pro ET), the club has diversified somewhat!

From 2009, the Club will be working hard towards its first show too! This will be held in the south and as details emerge, will be posted on the News Pages

The club meets in the south in Kings Langley and from 2009 season in Guildford too, allowing members to meet and discuss cars as close to their homes as possible or to take a cruise out…

The Kings Langley meet is an informal affair and although quite new to the scene attracts an (increasing) and interesting collections of cars; Mustangs, Chargers, tri 5 Chevy's to name a few! Its held on the evening of the last Wednesday of the month. The Rose and Crown is to be found easily from Junction 20 of the M25 on the A4251 on your left OR, if coming from Hemel Hempstead, it is just through the village of Kings Langley on your right.

The club also has its own forum, the SandS Lounge (SANDS abbreviating Street AND Strip). The SandS Lounge is THE fastest growing and most focussed drag race forum online today, with a jukebox and interactive calendar, it is a good way for members to spend ‘idle’ time when away from the track. Next season, the club plans to take the forum into the USA. To spread the name of the club and to let any and every racer enjoy the forum! Within the UK, it already has over 100 members!

About Street and Strip and the National Street Car Challenge (NSCC).

The club has a strong affiliation with the NSCC; The NSCC is owned and was conceived by Ed Gasket (Shaun Wilson). Ed is the founder and Editor of the The Hot Rod Gazette, which is a UK monthly keeping its readership up to date with what’s going on in the UK scene.

Ed Gasket started the HRG over 10 years back as a leaflet to let rodders’ know when the Riversway cruiseup in Preston was happening. Ten years later it has over 500 subscribers and has more pages than any other mag covering the scene. Ed is a mountain of knowledge and passion and is never far from a show, race or bar. We are proud to support him!

The National Street Car Challenge (NSCC)

The NSCC fields cars that can run a quarter between 9.0 seconds and 17 seconds, with no limits other than must be street legal, this is heads up racing at its best and for all levels. The cars must prove their ability on the street too! To accrue points, each car must attend both cruises and shows around the country. In so doing, the series supports the scene and the series creates a wonderful sense of cameraderie and friendship!

The outright fastest car has never won; its a place to talk cars at shows, race, earn a few hangovers, make some great friendships and share the good with the bad...

FUN? If you like fast street cars, cruises, car shows and a hellish social life, you've never known anything like it!

The series was formerly the 'Northern' as opposed to 'National' Street Car Challenge. By setting up Lazy Racing, the club hopes to inspire southern competition and friendship to its friends in the North! In the UK , there is no better way to race, in the South; there is no better club to race with!
